About Us
Guardian Angel Bracelets are another innovative product proudly introduced by the team at Bonitas International. Since 2003, we have delighted in finding new and better ways to solve everyday problems that thrill our customers.
Our company was started when at a family gathering, co founder Kimberly Martinez learned of about a side business her sister in law,(and co-founder) Lisa Harrington, had started creating and selling beaded lanyards to her hospital co workers at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. A pediatric nurse at the time Lisa was so busy with her lanyard orders that she had gotten her two young children involved in the business and they spent their afterschool hours in the basement learning about business 101 as they beaded necklaces together.
Kimberly listened to her story, and figured out she had 10% market share in her hospital with no real marketing what so ever. High on Christmas cookies and adrenaline, she put together a business plan on the back of a holiday card envelope and convinced Lisa that she needed to share her fabulous creations with working women around the world. They both left our lives of working for others and never looked back.
The fashion accessories line, called BooJeeBeads™ is a collection of ID jewelry that lets the user wear her employee ID badge with style. We feature a wide variety of ID necklaces and retractable badge reel jewelry. Our products can be found at nearly 4000 retail stores across North American and on the retail website www.BooJeeBeads.com. We have a cult like following of our product as our customers collect BooJeeBeads to match their various outfits.
In April 2009 we launched two new product lines. First, our Mothers Promise™ beaded lanyard and eyeglass jewelry line. These are made by fair trade artisans in Guatemala and were introduced in support of our social mission to create economic empowerment for women in disadvantaged economies. Please visit our website www.EyeGlassHolders.com to view these important products. Kimberly and Lisa realized that they wanted to use our economic clout—our buying power- to enable mothers to care for their children by providing life’s basic necessities- shelter, food, clothing and education-while building sustainable skills. Finally, our Guardian Angel Bracelet ID™ which enables lost children to quickly reunite with their care givers, was created after Kimberly lost her son Brett during a day at the beach.
On behalf of Kimberly Martinez, CEO and Lisa Harrington, the Chief Design Officer, and the entire team at Bonitas International thanks for taking the time to learn about our story, and feel free to tell us yours!
